The\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Picture Format<\/b>\u00a0tab appears.<\/li>\n<li>On the\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Picture Format<\/b>\u00a0tab, in the\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Adjust<\/b>\u00a0group, select\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Compress Pictures<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Under\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Compression options<\/b>, do any of the following:\n<ul>\n<li>Make sure that\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Apply only to this picture<\/b>\u00a0is not selected so that the changes you make here will apply to all pictures in the document.<\/li>\n<li>Select\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Delete cropped areas of pictures<\/b>. This option removes the cropped picture data\u00a0but note that if you delete the cropped picture data, you won&#8217;t be able to restore it.<\/li>\n<li>Under\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Resolution<\/b>, select\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Use default resolution<\/b>.\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/support.content.office.net\/en-us\/media\/5d1afd4c-3ef8-4d2b-981a-d629776686b5.png\" alt=\"Compress Pictures\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section class=\"ocpSection\" aria-labelledby=\"\">\n<section class=\"ocpSection\" aria-labelledby=\"ID0EDDBF\">\n<h3 id=\"ID0EDDBF\" class=\"\">Delete image editing data and lower default resolution<\/h3>\n<p>By default, when you edit an image, the data from the original is retained (to ensure the image can be restored). Discarding it means that you can&#8217;t restore the changes you make, but it will reduce your file size. Lowering the default resolution for images also reduces your overall file size.<\/p>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n<li>Go to\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">File<\/b>\u00a0&gt;\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Options<\/b>\u00a0&gt;\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Advanced<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Under\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Image Size and Quality<\/b>, do the following:\n<ul>\n<li>Select\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Discard editing data<\/b>.\u00a0This option removes stored data that&#8217;s used to restore the image to its original state after it&#8217;s been edited. Note that if you discard editing data, you won&#8217;t be able to restore the image after you edit it.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure that\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Do not compress images in file<\/b>\u00a0is not selected.<\/li>\n<li>In the\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Default resolution<\/b>\u00a0list, select a resolution that is 150ppi or lower.\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/support.content.office.net\/en-us\/media\/76147d11-022f-4314-b4b2-6d7cf54e0266.png\" alt=\"Set the image size and quality\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/section>\n<section class=\"ocpSection\" aria-labelledby=\"ID0EDBBF\">\n<h3 id=\"ID0EDBBF\" class=\"\">Reduce the character set of embedded fonts<\/h3>\n<p>To make your presentation more sharable with others who don&#8217;t have the same fonts in their system, it&#8217;s typical to embed the fonts you use. However, embedded fonts will increase your file size. To minimize the file increase, embed only those characters used in the presentation.<\/p>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n<li>Go to\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">File<\/b>\u00a0&gt;\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Options<\/b>\u00a0&gt;\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Save<\/b>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Under\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Preserve fidelity when sharing this presentation<\/b>, select\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Embed fonts in the file<\/b>, and then select\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Embed only the characters used in the presentation<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/support.content.office.net\/en-us\/media\/dbac7db3-be5b-42db-adb6-50f6606d564f.png\" alt=\"Embed fonts in the file\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"ocpAlert\">\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ocpAlertSection\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><b class=\"ocpNote\">Note:\u00a0<\/b>If you&#8217;ve used custom fonts and want others to edit the presentation, select\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Embed all characters<\/b>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Compress pictures in your presentation Select a picture in your document.
