Make sure Bluetooth\u00a0\u00a0is turned on.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong style=\"font-size: 16px;\">When you turn Bluetooth on in Settings, the following message appears immediately:<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Discoverable as &lt;<\/strong><i class=\"ocpItalic\"><strong>computer_name<\/strong>&gt;<\/i>&#8220;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"ocpAlert\"><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section class=\"ocpSection\" aria-labelledby=\"ID0EDZBBDBF\">\n<h2 id=\"ID0EDZBBDBF\" class=\"\" aria-label=\"Check your Bluetooth device\">Check your Bluetooth device<\/h2>\n<p>Make sure your Bluetooth device is turned on, is charged or has fresh batteries, and is in range of your PC. Then, try the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Turn off your Bluetooth device, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure your Bluetooth device is in range. If your Bluetooth device is unresponsive or sluggish, check to make sure it\u2019s not too close to any other USB device that\u2019s plugged into a USB 3.0 port. Unshielded USB devices can sometimes interfere with Bluetooth connections.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/section>\n<section class=\"ocpSection\" aria-labelledby=\"ID0EDXBBDBF\">\n<h2 id=\"ID0EDXBBDBF\" class=\"\" aria-label=\"Change the\u00a0Bluetooth devices discovery setting\">Change the\u00a0Bluetooth devices discovery setting<\/h2>\n<p><strong>If you don&#8217;t see your Bluetooth device displayed in the list of devices, you may need to set your Bluetooth devices discovery setting to Advanced.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n<li>Select\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Start\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0&gt;\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Settings\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0&gt;\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Bluetooth &amp; devices\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0&gt;\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Devices\u00a0<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Under\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Device settings<\/b>\u00a0&gt;\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Bluetooth devices discovery<\/b>, choose one of the following from the drop-down list:\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Default<\/b>\u2014displays common Bluetooth devices<\/li>\n<li><b class=\"ocpUI\">Advanced<\/b>\u2014displays\u00a0all types of Bluetooth devices<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>If you still don&#8217;t see your Bluetooth device displayed after choosing the\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Advanced<\/b>\u00a0setting, try the solutions listed below.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/section>\n<section class=\"ocpSection\" aria-labelledby=\"ID0EDVBBDBF\">\n<h2 id=\"ID0EDVBBDBF\" class=\"\" aria-label=\"Check your PC\">Check your PC<\/h2>\n<p><strong>On the PC you want to pair to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b class=\"ocpLegacyBold\">Make sure airplane mode is off:\u00a0<\/b>Select the\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Network<\/b>,\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Sound<\/b>, or\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Battery\u00a0<\/b>icons\u00a0 on the right side of the taskbar, then make sure the <b class=\"ocpUI\">Airplane mode\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0quick setting is turned off.<\/li>\n<li><b class=\"ocpLegacyBold\">Turn\u00a0Bluetooth on and off:\u00a0<\/b>Select\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Start\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0&gt;\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Settings\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0&gt;\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Bluetooth &amp; devices\u00a0<\/b>. Turn off\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Bluetooth\u00a0<\/b>, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on.<\/li>\n<li><b class=\"ocpLegacyBold\">Remove the Bluetooth device, then add it again:<\/b>\u00a0Select\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Start\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0&gt;\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Settings\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0&gt;\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Bluetooth &amp; devices\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0&gt;\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Devices\u00a0<\/b>. In\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Devices<\/b>, select\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">More options\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0for the Bluetooth device you\u2019re having problems connecting to, and then select\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Remove device\u00a0<\/b>&gt;\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Yes<\/b>. Here are some other common problems:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Bluetooth icon is missing or Bluetooth can&#8217;t be turned on or off.<\/li>\n<li>Bluetooth doesn&#8217;t work after a\u00a0Windows update is installed.<\/li>\n<li>Bluetooth doesn&#8217;t work after you upgrade\u00a0to Windows 11 from Windows 10.<\/li>\n<li>Bluetooth doesn&#8217;t appear in Device Manager, and there are no unknown devices listed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To get started, select a heading to see more inf<\/strong>o.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<div class=\"ocpSection\">\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ocpExpandoHeadTitleContainer\" role=\"none\"><strong>Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"ID0ERBBDBF-panel\" class=\"ocpebw\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"ID0ERBBDBF-button\">\n<div class=\"ocpExpandoBody\">\n<p>Select\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Start\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0&gt;\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Settings\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0&gt;\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">System\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0&gt;\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Troubleshoot\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0&gt;\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Other troubleshooters\u00a0<\/b>. Next to\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Bluetooth\u00a0<\/b>, select\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Run\u00a0<\/b>and follow the instructions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ocpSection\">\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ocpExpandoHeadTitleContainer\" role=\"none\"><strong>Make sure you have the latest drivers<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"ID0EPBBDBF-panel\" class=\"ocpebw\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"ID0EPBBDBF-button\">\n<div class=\"ocpExpandoBody\">\n<p><strong>If you recently upgraded to Windows 11 or installed Windows 11 updates,\u00a0the current driver may have been designed for an earlier version of Windows. To automatically check for driver updates:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n<li>Select\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Search\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0on the taskbar, type\u00a0for\u00a0<b class=\"ocpLegacyBold\">device manager<\/b>, and then select\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Device Manager\u00a0<\/b>from the list of results.<\/li>\n<li>In Device Manager, select\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Bluetooth<\/b>, and then select the Bluetooth adapter name, which may include the word \u201cradio.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Press and hold (or right-click) the Bluetooth adapter, and then select\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Update driver\u00a0<\/b>&gt;\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Search automatically for updated driver software<\/b>. Follow the steps, then select\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Close<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>After installing the updated driver, select\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Start\u00a0<\/b>&gt;\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Power\u00a0<\/b>&gt;\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Restart\u00a0<\/b>if you&#8217;re prompted to restart, and then check whether that fixes the connection issue.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>If Windows can\u2019t find a new Bluetooth driver, visit the PC manufacturer\u2019s website and download the latest Bluetooth driver from there.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"ocpAlert\">\n<p class=\"ocpAlertSection\"><strong>Important:\u00a0An outdated or incompatible driver is one of the most common causes of Bluetooth connection problems.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>To manually install the Bluetooth driver:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Go to your PC manufacturer&#8217;s website and download the latest driver. Then do one of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you downloaded an executable (.exe) file, just double-click the file to run it and install the drivers. That should be all you need to do.<\/li>\n<li>If you downloaded individual files, and at least one file has an .inf file name extension and another has a .sys extension, do the following:\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Select\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Search\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0on the taskbar, type\u00a0<b class=\"ocpLegacyBold\">device manager<\/b>, and then select\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Device Manager\u00a0<\/b>from the list of results.<\/li>\n<li>In Device Manager, select\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Bluetooth\u00a0<\/b>&gt; the Bluetooth adapter name. (If it\u2019s not listed there, check in\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Other devices<\/b>.)<\/li>\n<li>Press and hold (or right-click) the network adapter, and then select\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Update driver\u00a0<\/b>&gt;\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Browse my computer for drivers<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Select\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Browse<\/b>, select the location where the driver files are stored, and then select\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">OK<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Select\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Next<\/b>, and follow the steps to install the driver. When the installation is finished, select\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Close<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>After you&#8217;ve updated the driver, select\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Start\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0&gt;\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Power\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0&gt;\u00a0<b class=\"ocpUI\">Restart\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0if you&#8217;re prompted to restart, and check whether that fixes the connection issue.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Check in quick settings:\u00a0Select the\u00a0Network,\u00a0Sound, or\u00a0Battery\u00a0iconson the right side of the taskbar, look for the Bluetooth\u00a0\u00a0quick setting, then select\u00a0Bluetooth\u00a0\u00a0to turn it on.
